What the Hands Reveal
Most people pay attention to what they think.
Some pay attention to what they feel.
Few pay attention to their hands.
Yet the hands are constantly speaking.
Watch them when you are nervous.
Watch them when you are waiting.
Watch them when you are excited.
They rarely stay still.
The hands often reveal what the mind has not yet admitted.
A person may say they are calm while twisting a ring.
A person may say they are comfortable while gripping a chair.
A person may say they are relaxed while their fingers continue searching for something to hold.
The body speaks before words arrive.
The hands are often among the first messengers.
What the Hands Carry
The hands carry more than objects.
They carry habits.
They carry responsibility.
They carry unfinished thoughts.
They carry the need to control what cannot be controlled.
Without realizing it, many people spend their day holding on.
Holding a steering wheel.
Holding a phone.
Holding tension.
Holding expectations.
Holding themselves together.
Over time, the body learns this pattern.
The grip remains long after the reason has disappeared.
What To Notice
Today, notice your hands.
Are they relaxed?
Are they open?
Or are they constantly holding, gripping, tapping, or reaching?
There is no need to change anything.
Simply notice.
Awareness often arrives before release.
What To Do
For one minute today:
Place your hands comfortably in your lap.
Allow your fingers to soften.
Allow your palms to rest.
Take three slow breaths.
Notice what happens when nothing needs to be held.
Sometimes the body finds peace not by doing more,
but by finally letting go.
